The Liebster Award!

Dear Readers!

Another award! Tj and I (Soup) feel so loved… granted they are all from the same person… but that’s irrelevant…

Either way we’d like to thank our good friend Athena over at everythingeverythingblog for being awesome and nominating us for another award… we wuv you _______…

Let’s get started shall we?

Do you play any instruments?

instrument.gif

yes I play 2 instruments! I play drum kit and bass guitar and i’m slightly obsessed with both of them (I try to procrastinate practicing them in exam time as whenever I go to practice I end up playing for an hour and learning a new song)

Drums are heaps of fun and i like making lots of noise.

And bass is just…awesome (and i’m not going to lie i’m kind of in love with the bass guitar i got for Christmas…

Once upon a time, in a land far far away, Soup actually had some skill… *ba dum tsshh*.. No but seriously a long long time ago I used to play the keyboard and I can still read sheet music, I’m just pretty slow now…

What is a book that inspired you to do more in life?

i have a dream.gif
Am.jpg
Oooh  this is a tough one. Actually to be honest ‘Amy and Rogers Epic Detour’ kind of inspired me. It’s a little book that I just picked out randomly and it reminded me of holidays i’d been on and it inspired me to step out of my comfort zone and to take a gap year. And also not to overthink and plan things out to much.
Although if you ask me this question in 2 weeks i’ll probably say a completely different book as it really depends on my mood.

illuminae
Pretty much every book I read makes me want to do something more in my life. I’ve wanted to become a sorceress, a wizard, a bad*ss main character, a bad*ss side character, a cat! honestly though one book that made me want to be so much better than I am would have to be ‘Illuminae’ by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. This main character literally goes from normal teenager with normal problems to computer hacking genius… makes me feel so inadequate.

Have you even lent a book to someone and it has come back ruined?
you ruined everything.gif
Aha yes! I lent my copy of beautiful creatures to my best friend and she dropped it in a puddle! Although I don’t really mind though because if a book is creased and worn looking it usually means it’s a good book that someone’s taken everywhere with them. Some of my favourite books are pretty tattered as i’ve done things like taken them camping and dropping them in the bath. As long as I can still read it and none of the pages are missing i’m not that fussed.
***
Yeah I lent one of my best friends my copy of ‘The Host’ (I was going through a stage of absolutely being in love with that book) and it cam back with the from cover half ripped off… I wouldn’t say I was too happy about it but it’s okay because she ended up loving it and I let her keep it anyway so it’s all good!

What book is your childhood favourite?

good old days.gif

Oh gosh another hard one! I can’t just pick one! My top 5 would have to be Harry Potter (of course), Skulduggery Pleasant, Rangers Apprentice, At the Beach (by Rowland Harvey, my one token picture book), Famous 5 and Anne of Green Gables.Although most of these books are still my favourites…
***
I’m actually quite surprised about how was this question was for me. Maybe I didn’t read many stand out books as a kid but the one book that I will love forever is ‘James and The Giant Peach’ by Roald Dahl… I loved this book soooooooo much when I read it and I feel as if I always will.

Are there any books that you think are underrated? Which?

twilight.jpg
anne
I think that the twilight books are actually really underrated, the movies are pretty crap and the books might not be written amazingly but the way the books are written is really engaging and the characters all have really interesting background stories. I also think Anne of Green Gables is underrated as a lot of people don’t want to read it as they think it is a classic and uninteresting. It’s actually written really well and it is not written in the detached way that other books from that time are. It’s also just genuinely a really good story.

Homestly I’m sure there are a lot I just can;t think of right now but one that just sticks our is the Gallagher Girls series… This book doesn’t seem like much with it’s cheesy titles and middle school covers but it honestly is a good series of books and I have to say I was very surprised when I read it.

Do you have any pets?

pets.gif

I have 1 dog (he’s a border collie), several fish and 3 chooks.

***

No…. I have none….. other than  a snow owl, a ferret, a lion, a mouse, 2 beavers, 2 cats and an older brother…

How many books do you have in total?

count.gif

Oh My Gosh I’ve lost count. My parents split up when I was little and i have a bookcase at both their houses I’ve definitely got over 150, maybe over 200.

 ***

Well damn… I don’t think I own that many but I not so little that I want to count them…. I borrow a lot of books from the library so I don’t actually own that many. I like to share books with others who want to read it… 🙂

Who is your favourite female fictional character?

feminism.gif

I can’t. I cannot answer this question. It is physically impossible to choose just one. No, I refuse to pick only one character.

***

This honestly changes all the time but as of this point I would have to pick ‘Inej’ from ‘Six of Crows’…

I promise that Tj and I will do an entire post on this soon.

Is there are fictional item you would like to have in real life?

giveit to me.gif

I’m not going to lie I wouldn’t mind having a firebolt in real life, think of all the quidditch you could play! I would also like to be in possession of the fictional item of Augustus Waters (pre-death).
***
How is this question even fair? I want it all… I want a light saber, a sonic screwdriver, a wand,  hoverboard, green lantern’s ring, aladdin’s lamp, Hermione’s bag…. I want it all!

If you could turn a book into a movie, what would it be?

do it again.gif
I would like to redo the mortal instruments, Properly(!). I would also like to make a movie of legacy (by Cayla Kluver) and Skulduggery Pleasant. I have planned the movies of these books so many times in my head it’s sad.
***
I really really really want a movie adaption of ‘Six of Crows’ by Leigh Bardugo and ‘Heart of Betrayal’ by Mary E. Pearson

If you could turn a movie into a book, what would it be?

popcorn.gif
Ooooh, I’d love a book of fanboys or the corpse bride.
***
Honestly I just want a good book adaption of ‘The Sixth Sense’ is that too much to ask?
